Transcranial magnetic (TMS) and direct current (tDCS) stimulation are non-invasive brain stimulation techniques that allow researchers to purposefully modulate cortical excitability in focal areas of the brain, however the optimal stimulation parameters to accomplish these goals remain to be determined.
